i left all my prints in texas...but i really should have brought this one.

when i move into a new place in june ill start doing things 'right' and put things on the wall. im sad i basically ruined the only print i had up here, one of lauren tarbel's that she printed for me on the last day of class. which was in december but feels like a thousand years ago...
she hasn't put any of my favorite images of hers on her website but her self portraits are all really great...but the one of her leaning on that tree needs to be in there! hello lauren!!

i don't know how to photograph here yet. i can't exactly figure that out. but i will...i think i am going to do that class at ICP. its only 310 with my TA discount (!) and amy stein is teaching it, but i really just want to get in a car and drive to new mexico...who's down?

Spent a bit of time on blogs today. First on a 13 year old's blog then on Jess Williamson's website

Feeling a little. little. Not enough. Lots of people around me are pretty prolific and fast!

I choose to work in a slower medium (film photography) which I'm not 100% sure on how to continue with now that I've left school. Guess I'm a little jealous...and always seeing the roadblocks ($$$) to being productive...so then I do not a whole lot.

Cyclical cynicism. Megan says I should just do whatever, not worry about photo and just make something. But I dunno if I'm very good at any of that.

Enough self pitying. Here's a tiny bit of comic-y thing I made two nights ago. It's not done! riiiiight?

gossip girl and strange outing

first gossip girl:
a very imp. episode, combined a lot of what i like abt tv in one episode, which i will probably rewatch a lot when i am feeling esp. down and out: first of all, blair goes insane-o and finally tries for a queenie-ship at NYU, which could be the best thing that ever happened on that show. and then there was the tyra cameo, she looks so much skinnier and younger than she really is, or what she looks like on her (lesser budgeted) talk show and ANTM).. i have no idea if she's real or not. also any episode with lil J is a winner. and the less vanessa and nate, the better. this episode focused on the best characters, blair and serena!

and

tonight trip had a bunch of us meet at clem and caravan over to an abandoned cement factory to listen to mozart. it was...harder to put into words than a gossip girl summary. haunting at first, then surreal, then very obvious, then scary when this creaky noise started up, then funny, then i stopped listening and started worrying about a lot of things. weird to spend an hour with some of your friends in the dark in a strange place not talking and listening to classical music. love that trip made that happen...still super strange though

Had an interesting night...

Hannah forced Megan and I to go with her to Annecy's to feed Emily the cat and then Rio Rita to see Hunter. I met a guy named Dave who I probably should have met when he curated the "Warren Oates in the Economic Crisis of 2008" show at Okay Mountain. But I didn't...I met Bob that night. Well Dave alerted me that Mike Smith has a show up in Long Island. I probably won't be close enough to Long Island to see it but I don't know. I might see Hunter while I'm there? IDK Tomorrow I have to print something for black and white, haven't given it too much thought which is A Problem

Today was the first day of 'lecture' which is when Art School can feel a lot like high school. At 5 o'clock everyone stops classes an hour early and heads down to the lecture hall. Sort of like assembly.
And just like in high school, in the charged atmosphere while people find their friends to sit with, you get to scope out the crowd and find your crush or eye candy that helps you get to school each morning. Couldn't find mine, I'm beginning to think he was a mirage or combination of three different good looking boys that aren't especially good looking stand alones.

Which is lost on me now because I've come back to this thirty minutes after sharing dinner and heartbreak with my roommate. I'll come back to it later

It's a sorry sad dreary day and I have not left the house/will not leave the house, since it's already 10. Hannah left while I was taking a nap around 7. It's been raining all day. I started thinking about when I'd be at my parent's house and I'd be inside all day and then my mom would tell me to go outside for freshair. I opened the door. The cats can push the screen door open with their paws

Been trying to watch Wonder Boys. Seen it so many times, but I still bought it on Amazon last week bc of the prospects of fall weather. I always thought that was what college would be like, like in Wonder Boys. UT is nothing like that. I can't believe I'm not done with school yet. It's insane, and I still have to take some Texas Government test for credit

Not a lot to report on, a lot to complain about, and it's been an unproductive day besides BobWork, which has been ongoing all day. Gonna get up early tomorrow and get my film from Holland. Wish the stupid photo lab was open on the weekend so I could scan it. I'm a tardo for not picking it up today. But my car is at Megan's house on east 12th...

This seems less like a blog post and more like an organizing of my thoughts/to do lists. Afraid to go on Thursday. Afraid of being a hassle to people. Gonna try and be Low Impact Girl. It's not possible. All I really wanna do is go to the Whitney and a book/print store that Jessica told us abt in digital...I won't lie I am super freaked out about going. But maybe I shouldn't be. dunno dunno dunno. Wish I hadn't met that asshole Ben whatever his name was last night. That really put me off meeting new people for a while. Or getting drunk around strangers. Or getting drunk in general. Or leaving my house uhhh

tomorrow will be diff. I'll get so much done I won't have anything to do!
